What is coaching?
Coaching is a form of self-development where a coach supports you to create learning, self-development and improved performance in a way that benefits your personal and professional life.
The literal meaning is ‘to transport someone from one place to another’ and so you can think of it as helping you move forward in a specific direction.
How does it work?
Coaching is normally a series of conversations between the coach and the coachee regarding their desires, learning and ongoing progress.
For example, coaching might consist of talking about things that they coachee wants to change. Alternatively, the coach may observe the coachee doing something (e.g. chairing a meeting) then discussing it afterwards.

What you can expect from me as a coach?
As a coach, I am focused solely on your situation with the kind of commitment and attention that you rarely experience.
I will listen, with gentle curiosity, to understand who you are, what you think and generally how you experience the world. My role is to reflect back to you, with an objective viewpoint and assessment that helps create clarity. I will work with you to rise to challenges, overcome obstacles and drive action.
A coaching relationship is unique, because of its combination of objective detachment and the commitment to your individual goals. Because the relationship is one of trust and openness, all discussions are confidential. Where a third party has requested the coaching for you, I will agree with you how to best keep them updated.
