The practical 8 week Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) is an evidence-based approach to equip you with meditation techniques and the tools for mindful living in a relaxed and friendly environment. It is for adult members of the public looking to develop their understanding of Mindfulness is a teacher led, supportive environment.
The course is suitable for those with no previous experience of Mindfulness or meditation but is also beneficial if you have been practising meditation already. It can help improve overall health and well-being. Find out what previous attendees thought!
The 8-week course includes a combination of group meditation, group reflection and teaching. There are 8 sessions plus a day retreat which is mainly in silence.
Each session is centred around a Mindfulness theme. Whilst being teacher led the course is experiential. This means the biggest leanings come from your own experience of and your own meditation practice. You will be invited to take part in different meditations to help focus your awareness and observe your own behaviour.
There will also be home meditations to do each day and activities to do in between sessions to allow you to develop and reflect on how the practice is going, this is done as a group during the sessions.
